Forum presentation & outcomes 2024

On 22–23 April, the Nordic Electricity Market Forum (the annual event of the Nordic Electricity Market Group) took place in Stockholm, gathering more than 100 stakeholders from the Nordic electricity market community. Everyone was represented – the producers, consumers, exchanges, TSOs, regulators, and ministries in the Nordic region.

Participants enjoyed a packed two-day program of keynote speeches, moderated breakout sessions and lots of mingling and networking with colleagues from other Nordic countries during breaks and a conference dinner. Keynote speakers included Catharina Sikow Magny, Director of the European Commission, and Daniel Liljeberg, State Secretary to the Minister for Energy.

The topic for this year’s Forum was “Implementation of the Electricity Markets Design Revision”, where participants explored which parts they wanted to prioritize and where they saw the biggest questions and uncertainties. Looking at the regulatory texts, the participants discussed how they could be implemented in the Nordics to fit the Nordic Electricity Market. For an overview of the discussions, please read the “Summary of the Breakout-sessions”

The discussions during the Forum have been a valuable input for the Nordic ministries and the regulators.

Stay tuned for updates and follow-ups on the Forum.
